IRIS Certification
Due to the introduction of new requierements for quality management systems of railway manufacturers and their suppliers a new standard has been developed which both companies Schunk Bahn- und Industrietechnik in Wettenberg (Germany) and Salzburg (Austria) want to follow. The requirements of IRIS, International Railway Industry Standard, were prepared by the Union of European Railway Industries (UNIFE) based in Brussels and leading railway system manufacturers.
The requirements of ISO 9001:2000 are basic for IRIS which addresses railway-specific regulations in detail.
With the successful certification by the auditor Christof Höbing of DQS the sister companies in Wettenberg and Salzburg are now included in the UNIFE portal and can, hence, further strengthen the successful business relationship with their customers.
